Joint Day with WetWheels 2024
Our annual joint event started when Wetwheels Jersey rang with news that the forecast was for rough seas on Sunday and so we decided to cancel that part of the event – safety first!
However, the weather proved flyable for Helping Wings pilots on Sunday and so, everyone met at the Jersey Aero Club for breakfast. There was a lot of excitement in the room as our guests were told who was flying what …
We had 12 flights in light aircraft, 3 in a helicopter and as a first, 2 in a private jet. Altogether, we flew 40 guests who all went home with wonderful memories of their day. As usual, our events would not take place without the constant support we receive.
Our thanks to all our pilots and ground crew, Ports of Jersey, Jersey Aero Club, Jersey Air Traffic Control Centre, Ortac and Gama Aviation for organising the flights in the jet. So despite everyone disappointment at not having sailed, we were delighted that the rest of the day proved a success.
