2016 Helping Wings scholarship for the lower limb disabled awarded to Melissa Alves
We are delighted to announce that the 2016 Helping Wings scholarship for the lower limb disabled sponsored by the Sir James Knott Trust has been awarded to wheelchair bound Melissa Alves.
However, we were so impressed by our second applicant, amputee Greg Murray, that we decided to dig into our own funds and awarded him £2500 of flying training. They will both be flying in Jersey Aero Club’s specially adapted aircraft with a hand control unit.
Many congratulations to them both. We look forward to follow their progress very soon.
